In Harmony Lambeth

In Harmony Lambeth was launched in 2009, inspired by the hugely successful Venezuelan El Sistema programme,  and is primarily a social programme which uses the pursuit of musical excellence as a way in which to enrich the lives of children, young people and their families in Stockwell.  In Harmony Lambeth engages with young people from an early age through its immersive and intensive programme, to increase their opportunities, introduce them to new ideas and new people, and to encourage key social skills to give them more choice as they grow up.

The programme works with three partner schools in Stockwell; Herbert Morrison, St Stephen’s and Wyvil Primary Schools.

Southbank Centre has been a key partner for In Harmony Lambeth since the pilot project in 2009 but in 2013, announced a new partnership with Lambeth Council to lead the creative, artistic and strategic development of In Harmony Lambeth. The new partnership with Southbank Centre is providing more opportunities through performance, mentoring, attendance at concerts and work experience in a world-class centre for the arts.
